Photoshop World Vegas and The Traveling Ultra

By Gilmar Smith

We just wrapped up another amazing Photoshop World, this time on the West Coast in Vegas, Nevada. It was great to meet so many photographers, many already had Platypods. We really appreciate all of you, and we cannot wait to see the images you will create with your new Platypod. Tag us and follow us on social media.

I was once again invited to be part of Photoshop World, and this time, I designed a booth with the "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" theme in mind. It was a very interactive Photobooth. I really enjoyed the humorous response from all the attendees. It was so funny to see so many people trying on orange suits and showing me their best "criminal" and "regretful" faces!

We also got to spend time with The Traveling Ultra and its past hosts as The Traveling Ultra passed through Las Vegas with J.R Maddox. We have a project called the Traveling Ultra. The star of the project is a very special Platypod Ultra signed by Platypod's CEO, Larry Tiefenbrunn. The goal of the project is for the Traveling Ultra to visit as many photographers as possible all around the world, and for them to create amazing photographs together.

We have had a fantastic response from the Photography Community. There are lots of photographers already signed up to be part of the project. We are really excited to see all the beautiful places The Traveling Ultra is going to go to.

Sign up to participate in the project and volunteer to host Traveling Ultra.

So far, The Traveling Ultra has traveled from New Jersey to Orlando, Florida, where Platypod Ambassador, Gilmar Smith (follow me on Instagram) took it on an adventure to England, Portugal, Spain, and Wales. Then it was Platypod's Ambassador and fantastic Travel Photographer, Dave Williams turn. Dave and the Platypod Ultra took a fun trip to Rio The Janeiro, Brazil!

Its next stop was with the always bubbly and fun to be around, Cathy Baitson. Cathy is a wonderful wedding and newborn photographer based in Dublin, Ireland. She showed the Traveling Ultra Ireland's beautiful landscapes, and they created stunning images together.

Then the Platypod Ultra flew all the way to California to visit its next host, J.R Maddox. J.R is an incredible Real Estate and Aerial Photographer. He took the Traveling Ultra to work and showed us how the Platypod allows him to get winning shots that truly portray the beauty of the spaces his featuring in his work.

We originally signed the Traveling Platypod Ultra with a sharpie, but after all its travels all the signatures started to fade away. Luckily, all the Platypod Ultra past hosts were attending Photoshop World Vegas. During an extraordinary dinner, hosted by the Platypod Team, we all got to engrave our names on the Traveling Ultra before it made its way to Tokyo, Japan to visit its next host, Daniel Runyan.

You can watch the videos of us engraving The Traveling Ultra in our Instagram Highlighted stories.

I am so honored to be part of this amazing, talented, and creative group and get to spend time with them.

I cannot wait to see what new adventures are in the future for The Traveling Ultra. Remember, you can be part of it too!

Our next stop is Photo Plus Expo at the Javits Convention Center, New York City, from October 24th-26th. See you there.
