"Setting up a remote camera in an end zone for a football game is 20% skill, 20% research, and 60% luck. When utilizing remote cameras in the end zone area for football games, I start with researching the tendencies of the quarterback and primary running backs. A lot of quarterbacks like to throw passes to the back corner of the end zones. Additionally, a lot of really fast running backs like to get to the corner and leap for the pylon."

"I typically set up a remote camera on each side of the end zone. One remote camera focused 2 yards deep in the end zone pointed slightly up with a 24-70mm lens and another remote camera on the other side focused 18 inches before the pylon with a 70-200mm lens. Shooting 30 fps bursts, I am fairly consistent with catching action shots with apertures around f5.6 – f8."

"During the recent UGA G-Day spring football game, I captured 6,000 images total from the remote cameras, but only 2 were really good 'keeper images.' With such a large playing field and dynamic environment, remote cameras for football are definitely a gamble. With proper research and technical ability this increases the likelihood of capturing that amazing game winning touchdown."
