Festive Friendsgiving Treats featuring the Platypod Grip

Words by Eryka Bagwell

Things are starting to get really festive in our household! We have been decorating and prepping for Friendsgiving get-togethers as well as Thanksgiving which is next Thursday.

For our Friendsgiving, I was asked to bring the cranberry sauce. After I began creating this cranberry sauce I thought, "I need to grab my Platypod rig!" So, I quickly grabbed my Platypod eXtreme with a Platypod Handle, a Platyball Elite ballhead, a Platypod Elbow with LumeCube Panel Pro and our newest piece of gear, the Platypod Grip. This allowed me to create an overhead stovetop setup (on a cool surface, of course) with rubber tips facing downward.

I've seen several of these overhead Platypod rigs staged before in previous blog posts featuring Bob Coates as well as on our Educational YouTube channel video "Top Down Tips" featuring Kersten Luts and while I'm no professional, I figured, why not give this overhead shoot a try?

I then activated my 'camera' feature on my Smartwatch which allowed me to continue stirring the cranberries (to prevent them from burning). Then, I started snapping.

I just love how versatile, stable and practical the Platypod products are. They allow me to quickly stage and shoot without missing a beat! If I can do it, you can too. Visit Platypod.com (Shop All Products) to learn more about our gear and how you can easily integrate them into your life.

Wishing each of you a happy and healthy 2023 holiday season ahead!

Happy Snapping!
