"A change of pace from last week’s FX filled Millennium Falcon flying high shot, this week is back to basics with a simple portrait. One of my holy grail pieces finally arrived. An amazing gift from my wife, the “new” old version of Luke Skywalker in his Jedi prime."

"For this shot, I setup and posed the the 12” Luke figure holding Grogu in his arms on a tabletop. For a backdrop, I happened to find some sort of kitchen shelf thing with a near perfect pattern on it while running errands with my wife. I knew that if I hit it with a bit of spray paint, it would make a great backdrop for a photo at some point. Always keep your eyes open anywhere and everywhere new for props! I surrounded the figures with a few reflectors and 2 lights. Used a Godox AD200 in a 34” softbox overhead as my main light and another AD200 in a 10”x24” strip box in the back to light the little backdrop wall. I then setup my camera at the edge of the table with the new Platypod Handle to dial in just the right height so I could be looking slightly up at the figures."

"In post I cleaned up the figures and removed a few seams on the figures in Photoshop and gave Grogu a smile. Then used Boris FX Optics to add a bit of glow and lens flare. Finished off in Lightroom with a few more local adjustments, color grade, and final crop(s) for sharing."
