One of the Most Dangerous Domestic Chores Involves -- a Spoon!

Another weekend came and went in the blink of an eye, and we had another chance to document our family adventures. This time, our adventure was a silly one I know most of you can relate to. It is one of the most dangerous domestic chores -- washing a spoon!

My son came up with the idea a few weeks ago after being a victim of some massive splashing after washing a spoon, and I promised him we were going to make that picture happen. After coming back from at day at the pool, I set my lights in the kitchen. I grabbed my camera with my Canon 16-35mm lens, placed it on my handy Platypod Ultra, and put it on top of the counter.

It didn't take longer than 20 minutes to get set up and get the picture, and we will laugh about this picture for years. Then I spent a little time on Photoshop making some simple adjustments and I was done. By doing these fun photoshoots with my kids I don't only get to build the best wedding slideshow ever for them, but it has also given me the tools when I work with other kids and families. You have to be fast, or kids will get bored, you have to make it fun, you have to know how to direct them, and you have to make them feel they are part of the project. If you follow those simple rules, they will come to you asking for more pictures!
