Sometimes you need more reach-but you don't want more flex. The Platypod Rod gives you a rigid 10.25-inch extension for positioning lights and other accessories exactly where you need them. Mount it to a Platypod Handle with a 1/4" Handle Cap, connect it to a Platyball Mini, add a Platypod Elbow, or incorporate it into a Bracket or Platypod eXtreme setup. Use it to raise a video light, extend a light over a tabletop subject, or add rigid reach for food, product, toy, macro, and other close-up photography.
Need to change direction or reach even farther? Combine the Rod with additional Platypod components to add angle adjustment, fine positioning and greater reach-while the Rod provides the rigid section of the system.
With 1/4"-20 threaded sockets at both ends and an included 1/4"-20 Crossnut Adapter, the Rod can connect from either end and integrate easily into a wide range of Platypod configurations.
