"The Full Super Moon Rising over the Chicago Lighthouse on Lake Michigan capture was a real treat and a bit of a challenge to shoot."
"Some of the gear I used included an external Ninja monitor to record what I saw through the Canon EOS R3 viewfinder. This also allowed me to record video while capturing still images. The cool thing about the Ninja is that it can record video simultaneously on its hard drive. The image that uses the EOS R3 and RF 100-500mm lens @500mm ISO: 8000, Aperture: 7.1, Shutter: 1/200 also shows how these settings for the faster shutter speed help minimize any blur. On this particular evening, there was a bit of wind that was buffeting the lens."
"Of course, I had to shoot the full moon as it rose in the evening sky in the image above. My second favorite photograph is when the moon reached the apex above the lighthouse (seen below). As you know, there is no way to capture the lighthouse and the moon in a single frame due to each's wide exposure range. The moon was very bright! I shot a 10-image bracket and combined those exposures in Adobe Lightroom for the final image. I hope that you enjoy these captures as much as I enjoyed shooting them!"
