Bracket and Bounce with Baitson

By Cathy Baitson

When I was invited to take part in the Kickstarter campaign, I was genuinely excited, not only to be the photographer, but also to see and test the new Platypod bracket and bounce in action.

Larryโ€™s idea for the product came from his experience at a wedding, and while itโ€™s perfectly suited to that environment, I could immediately see its potential for so much more. With that in mind, I organised a series of shoots across Ireland to really explore its versatility.

These included a night-time light trail shoot, a childrenโ€™s party, newborn photography, as well as engagement and wedding imagery. Kersten and Bayleigh travelled over from the UK; one to capture behind-the-scenes footage, and the other to create video using the product itself.

The light trail portrait, newborn, and childrenโ€™s sessions were photographed in Dublin; the engagement and music shoot took place in Northern Ireland; and the wedding celebration was set in a traditional Irish pub in Leitrim, complete with musicians and Irish dancers.

Everything came together seamlesslyโ€”we couldnโ€™t have asked for a better team to bring it all to life.

And as we say here in Irelandโ€ฆ sure, it was great craic!l
