Damselfly Macro capture with Stewart Wood

Words by Stewart Wood - A Platypod Pro

"It was early morning, 3am to be exact, and I found myself venturing into the backyard for this Macro capture; a dew covered damselfly. I used my @platypodtripods mobile macro studio (which included a Platypod Handle, Platyball Elite, Elbow, Super Mini clamp and a disc) and placed a Gerbera Daisy in the background. The Gerbera Daisy made for a tremendous colored background but also refracted in the water drops on the damselfly. A very complicated shot, but well worth it!"

"You can see a video of how I got this shot here: https://youtu.be/9bNLg-t6-tU

The final shot was edited with Lightroom using my macro presets and cleaned up using my macro assistant actions for Photoshop."
