Jesse Feyereisen Terminator Toy Photography

“I'm fine. Say…that's a nice bike.”

I’ve been on a bit of a Terminator kick lately and I have this outtake outtake from photo from a shoot a while back of the really cool-looking chromed out liquid metal T-1000 from one of my all personal time favorite movies, Terminator 2: Judgement Day! I had always planned to custom paint one like this myself, but then I lucked out and found this version online. I knew I had to get it immediately!

Using my trusty Platyball and Platypod Handle I was able to adjust my camera to just the right height looking slightly up at the figure to give him that larger than life presence. He actually proved to be a bit of a challenge to light a silver reflective object in a dark setup, but after much trial and error, I think I did come up with something I’m pretty happy with. I ended up with a total of six LEDs and a reflector to light the scene. I used a spray bottle of water for rain and took some photos.

In post, I used Photoshop to clean up the figure a bit and remove the shoulder and elbow joints to give it a smoother look. I used Boris FX Optics to add a few lens flares, and finished it all off in Lightroom with a few more adjustments and a color grade. This one was a challenge, but a lot of fun too!
