We reached out for a statement from Dennis and here's what he said:

Honored and Grateful

I was stunned in the best way to hear that this photograph was chosen as the November Platypodster of the Month. When I saw the message from Platypod, I had to read it twice just to let it sink in. I’m grateful, humbled, and honestly still smiling.

This image came from one quiet evening on the shoreline when the light seemed to slow down and breathe. I got low to the water, pushed the Platypod into the sand, and let that driftwood root become the anchor for the whole scene. The sky caught fire, the reflection doubled the story, and for a few minutes everything lined up the way photographers dream about but can never force.

Mornings and evenings like this are why I keep going back out there. The world feels simple for a moment, the air holds still, and the light shows you something true. Having the right gear helps, but it’s those moments of grace that make an image come alive.

Thank you, Platypod, for this honor, and thank you to everyone who encourages this journey. I’m grateful for every bit of it.
