Sunrise at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park with Matt Seuss

Words and Photos by Matt Suess, A Platypod Pro
Edited by Eryka Bagwell

"The Platypod eXtreme was an absolutely key piece of gear for achieving these low angle captures. At this location, there is no way that I would be able to configure my tripod to be both stable and supportive of my gear. While on site, I saw a fellow photographer struggling to stage his traditional tripod on the rocks to snap a similar style photo. As a matter of fact, it took him nearly double the time it took me to deploy my full rig and snap my final shot. Inevitably, he ended up attempting to balance his camera on a bean bag. I sure wish I caught that on camera!"

"This is why I always carry my Platypod gear with me on my travels. You just never know when you might need to reach for it to get a quick and stable shot."

"Photographed with my OM-1 Mark II and M.Zuiko 7-14mm lens."
